Is the uGenius Personal Teller system an ATM?

The uGenius system provides financial institutions the ability to provide their customers remote access to personal services and as such the uGenius system does not currently support any self-service ATM style functionality.

However, uGenius believes that it is important to enable customer choice when it comes to facilitating remote transactions and uGenius is currently developing its version 3.0 software which is being built within NCR's next generation ATM software platform, Aptra Activate, which has an anticipated general market availability date in early 2011. At this same time, the uGenius 3.0 software will enable both ATM and Personal Teller transactions to be conducted via certified XFS compatible hardware devices.

What is the relationship between uGenius and NCR?

uGenius has signed a software development agreement with NCR which enables uGenius to build its next generation 3.0 software on the NCR Aptra Activate software platform. Building on this platform will enable the uGenius system to be compatible with third-party XFS based hardware devices. It is anticipated that the first third party devices to be certified for compatibility will be NCR devices. Additionally, it is anticipated that using the Aptra Activate platform will enable uGenius to offer a software solution that provides both Personal Teller video banking capabilities and intelligent deposit ATM capabilities in one integrated package.

Does the uGenius Personal Teller System require integration with the core banking platform?

No. The uGenius system can be used with the uGenius TellerNow! teller application which does not require an integration into the core banking platform.

Can the uGenius Personal Teller System be integrated into the core banking platform?

Yes. uGenius provides an software platform integration API which allows its uGenius Teller Enterprise teller application to be integrated with a financial institution's core banking platform.

What core banking systems is uGenius integrated with?

Core platform integrations are completed on a customer requested and sponsored basis. Currently uGenius is integrated with Fiserve CUBE and is partially integrated with Jack Henry Symitar.

Does uGenius provide call center services?

uGenius does not provide outsourced call center services. We work closely with each client to ensure that they establish a video banking call handling infrastructure that is appropriate for their business requirements.

Can we outsource uGenius Personal Teller calls to a third-party call center?

The uGenius system does not currently support any third-party call centers. However this functionality is under development and we would be happy to discuss your specific situation.

Is there an outdoor uGenius Personal Teller Machine?

uGenius has announced that its next generation 3.0 software, with scheduled availability in Q2 2010, will enable the outdoor NCR Self-Serve 34 to function as a Personal Teller device. This NCR machine will only connect with Personal Teller capabilities and will not have any ATM functionality until uGenius releases its 3.X version software that combines ATM and Personal Teller functionality.

Who services the uGenius Personal Teller Machine?

uGenius has partnered with Talaris to provide second line maintenance on its uGenius Personal Teller Machine units.

What connectivity is required between the teller call center and the in-field Personal Teller enabled device?

Minimum synchronous 500kbits/s connection per PTM or at least one T1 circuit per 3 PTMs.

QoS policies for prioritized video and VOIP traffic are recommended for public connections.

What happens when all of the tellers are busy handling calls or when the call center is closed?

When all tellers are busy, a customized message appears on the screen of the Personal Teller enabled device which informs the customer that all of the tellers are assisting other customers and that their call will be handled by the next available teller. When the call center closes, a customizable message can be programmed to automatically display on all of the Personal Teller units in the branch network notifying the customer of the available service hours.

How do end customers respond to using the technology?

The simplicity of use and personal service associated with the uGenius system gives it strong customer appeal. Those financial institutions who choose to leverage the technology to provide extended personal service hours find even more customer appreciation for the availability of the uGenius solution. In fact, PTS users report a 90% satisfaction rate with their Personal Teller experience. Additionally, retail banking consumers report a 78% overall acceptance rate. Can new customer and loan applications be processed using the uGenius system?

Yes. The uGenius system supports functionality to engage new customers and process loan applications. We will want to speak with you about your specific operational requirements.

Does uGenius work with third-party distributor/resellers?

uGenius does not currently work with any third-party distributors/resellers however it may in the future. If you would like to contact uGenius about becoming a partner please fill out the Partner Request Form.

Does uGenius support international clients?

At this time, uGenius only provides support for North American clients. It is anticipated that support for international clients using third-party hardware devices will be available in Q4 2010.

How far away can the teller be from the customer?

There is no distance restriction on the distance between the teller and the customer however intercontinental transactions have not been tested at this time.
